After decades of failed efforts for the completion of the first large church in the coastal area of Vouliagmeni (Athens), the temple of Panagia Faneromeni was constructed by Berios with the generous donation of Marina and Thanassis Martinos. Designed by Greek architect Voula Didoni, it is dubbed one of the most beautiful churches in Greece, as it combines an incredibly unique and simultaneously elegant design that is reminiscent of cycladic architecture. The church, apart from the temple itself, offers a serene exterior public space as well as a cultural center. The temple itself has many unique features, including impressive glass arches delineating its gates, stunning modern hagiographies by famous artist George Kordis, as well as a breathtaking iconostasis which was gold-plated by artists brought all the way from St. Petersburg, Russia.
